The Friends of the Fresno County Library is curren The Friends of the Fresno County Library is currently comprised of fifteen active branch chapters, over 400 regular members, and over 4,000 members who joined via Noble Credit Union. Every time you donate, join, renew your membership, or shop at the Bookshop, you're helping us provide the @fresnolibrary with things like Fresno County Reads shirts, prizes for the Annual Poetry Contest, extra Summer At Your Library programs so more children and families can attend, and even author talks and readings like the ones we sponsored for this year's Fresno County Reads, with "Finding Gobi" author Dion Leonard and his dog, Gobi!

This year, many people likely encountered our Bookshop for the first time, thanks to @judgingbythecover.books and their work on this year's Indie Bookstore Day passport! The shop is entirely volunteer-run and always looking for more help, so if you've never gotten involved but would like to, please don't hesitate to reach out!

Many of us are Friends because we grew up going to libraries. We love them, we cherish them, and we want them to be the best they can be and continue serving our communities for many years to come; that's why many of our members spend so much time and energy on things like writing letters to the editor, running branch honor sales, attending Board of Supervisors meetings, and campaigning for Measure B, which is responsible for much of the library's funding.

If you'd like to be a Friend, too, we'd be happy to have you!

The Sanger Friends are always up to something fun! The Sanger Friends are always up to something fun! Every summer, they sponsor a monthly series called In the Library With Friends, which features performers like musicians, aerial artists, dancers, and more! They also sponsor other programs, like Let's Move It, You & Me Yarning with Friends, and the Chess Club, and do lots of tabling at community events, such as National Night Out, where they love to give away books. They also hold pop-up sales on their branch's patio, especially during events, and they also recently secured a new cabinet and some shelving for the branch staff and Friends to use!

Thanks for everything you do, Sanger Friends!

The most exciting event this year for the Friends The most exciting event this year for the Friends of Reedley Library was the Groundbreaking Ceremony held for the new Reedley Library on August 28, 2025. Over 100 community members attended the groundbreaking, all of whom are looking forward to the ribbon cutting ceremony once the building is completed!

The Reedley Friends purchase supplies for the various classes held in the library, such as Crochet, Knitting, Color Me Calm, Jewelry, Cubing club, and for various story time crafts and giveaways. Once a month, the library has Talent Tuesday, which the Friends purchase refreshments for, as well as for other events held throughout the year. They also sponsor additional summer programs because so many children and parents in the community want to attend.

The Friends also participate in Trick or Treat on G by handing out candy to kids, and they help with the branch's Christmas event! This year, they also had a great booth at the Reedley Fiesta, where they handed out FOL swag, as well as magnets with the renderings of the new library, and signed people up for a new committee dedicated to helping to decide on what art will be featured in the new building!

Thanks for everything you do, Reedley Friends!

The Politi Friends had an exceptionally busy 2024, The Politi Friends had an exceptionally busy 2024, what with all their anniversary celebrations, so much of this year has been dedicated to looking forward-- especially to the move to their new, much larger location! There's no opening date set yet, but the Politi Friends have had a chance to see how things are going with the new space so far, and to give their input about what their new library will look like!

They worked long and hard to help make this move a reality, so they're very excited to move in and get back to book sales and more programs! Thanks for everything you do, Politi Friends!
