We surveyed our board to see what their favorite b We surveyed our board to see what their favorite book of 2022 was and now we're passing their recommendations on to you!

Becky Brown, Vice-President of Membership, recommends Ayad Akhtar's "Homeland Elegies." She says, "I believe Homeland Elegies touches on topics that are vitally important but, at the same time, are hard to hear. Written as 'autofiction,' the author uses a memoir style to examine capitalism, immigration, nationalism, racism, and family dynamics in our post-9/11 society. I listened to the audiobook through the library's Libby app, which I highly recommend as the author doesn't just read the work, but performs it."

Her honorable mentions include "Born a Crime: Stories From a South African Childhood" by Trevor Noah, "Uncrowned Queen: The Fateful Life of Margaret Beaufort, Tudor Matriarch" by Nicola Tallis, "The Five: The Untold Lives of the Women Killed by Jack the Ripper" by Hallie Rubenhold, and "The Lighthouse Witches" by C.J. Cooke.
