It's time to make our voices heard! Join us for our first two letter writing parties to oppose the Fresno County Board of Supervisors' interest in privatizing the Fresno County Public Library!
We'll have postage stamps, envelopes, some pens and paper, the appropriate addresses, and some talking points, as well as refreshments, but feel free to bring any of your own stationery, or some to share!
Sunday, August 16
Tower District: @rootaccesshackerspace
1476 N Van Ness Ave

Northeast Fresno: @fresnocohousing
Common House

Can't make it to one of these letter writing parties but still want to participate? We've got you covered! You can find mailing information for the Supervisors here and a list of potential issues with privatization and talking points you can use here. We elected not to use a template or form letter this time around, so as not to have them all lumped in and counted as one, but we hope these talking points will be helpful in creating your own letter!
Thank you to all who spearheaded this critical anti-privatization effort. Libraries are vital arms of the public and should be funded and governed by local governments, never private corporations whose goal is to be profitable.
